Internet explorer Service Pack 2 Pop-up blockers

Windows XP service pack 2 installs and turns on a "pop-up blocker" in Internet Explorer settings by default.

This must be disabled (by "unchecking" the "pop-up blocker" in Internet Explorer)  See below.  Go to Tools, highlight Pop-up blocker (if it is on it will give you the option to turn off and visa versa) and click turn off Pop-up Blocker.  Note:  If you have attempted to launch elearning before turning off pop-up blockers, the program will lock you out for 12 hours. Please wait one day before trying it again.

Google Tools Pop-up Blockers

If you have the Google tool bar go to options tab   click on it.  Under Accessories un-select the pop-up blocker.

Some antivirus programs include pop-up blockers options. Verify this and ensure it is off before trying to log-in.

The clicking sound is bothering me.

If you wish to disable the clicking sound heard when launching the course please review the following document: http://elearning.esao.on.ca/Notes/Clicking_Sound_Solutions.pdf

I can't see the menu's - Adobe Flash error

When I load the CD I have problem viewing the menus (dropdown lists) across the top and down the left hand column.  I cannot make the CD ROM work.  Am I doing something wrong?

No, it would appear that your Adobe Flash Player may require you to reset your flash player global security settings.  Some machines will give you a warning telling you that it is trying to communicate with the CD in the drive and ask you to increase the security, if you say yes, you will automatically open up a page on the web site to allow you to do this.  If the program doesn’t prompt you, you can access it by going to the link below.

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html

There is a box called adobe flash settings manager and right underneath the box it says

Note: The Settings Manager that you see above is not an image; it is the actual Settings Manager itself. Click the tabs to see different panels, and click the options in the panels to change your Adobe Flash Player settings.

You are going to reset your global security settings to allow the CD to work by following the instructions.

·        Click on the arrow beside “edit Locations”

·        Select and click “add locations”

·        In the white box under trust this location enter the CD drive name (I entered the drive it needed to look in which was my Cd ROM drive D:/)

·        Press confirm. Shut down and restart CD
