Workspace Specific Hazards Training

This training program consists of 15 focused training modules (i.e. Biological Hazards, Chemical Hazards, Environmental Hazards). A hazard assessment is necessary in every workplace, as significant hazards in a workplace are likely to affect workers and may lead to severe consequences.  Cost per module per person $37.50 + GST. 

 

-          Biological Hazards: This module describes biological hazards as the cause of injury and disease and discusses how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess and control biological hazards. Relevant legislation, standards and guidelines are also covered.

 

-          Chemical Hazards: This module describes chemical hazards as the cause of injury and disease. It also explains how to identify potential exposures and covers relevant legislation, standards and guidelines.

 

-          Confined Spaces Hazards: This module describes the hazards associated with confined spaces and how they can cause injury and death. Relevant legislation, standards and guidelines are also covered. Furthermore, this module discusses environmental monitoring and emergency procedures, as well as how to identify confined spaces.

 

-          Driving Hazards: This module describes driving hazards and how they cause injury and death. Identifying potential exposures, as well as relevant legislation, standards and guidelines will be discussed. This module also explains how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess, and control driving hazards.

 

-          Energy Hazards: This module describes energy hazards and how they cause injury and disease; it also describes the concept of Zero Energy State and other methods of reducing risk. Relevant legislation, standards and guidelines will be covered, as well as how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess and control energy hazards.

 

-          Environmental Hazards: This module describes environmental hazards as the cause of injury and disease. Relevant legislation, standards and guidelines will be covered, along with guidelines for the preparation of an action plan in the workplace.

 

-          Ergonomic Hazards: This module describes ergonomic hazards as the cause of injury and disease and how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess and control ergonomic hazards. This module also covers the relevant legislation, standards and guidelines.

 

-          Fire and Explosion Hazards: This module describes fire and explosion hazards as the cause of injury and death and explains how to identify potential fire and explosion exposures, including flammable and combustible materials. Relevant legislation, standards and guidelines will also be covered, as well as how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess and control explosion hazards.

 

-          Machine Guarding Hazards: This module describes machine guarding hazards as the cause of injury and death and explains how to identify potential exposures. A description of various machines and their guards and the preparation of an action plan in the workplace are also included. This module covers the relevant legislation, standards and guidelines associated with machine guarding.

 

-          Noise Hazards: This module describes noise hazards and how they cause injury, how to recognize potential noise exposures, and how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess and control noise hazards; a section on hearing loss and hearing protection is included. Relevant legislation is also covered.

 

-          Physical Hazards: This awareness module will describe in detail three physical hazards and how they cause injury and disease. It will cover the relevant legislation, standards and guidelines, and describe how to identify potential exposures, including temperature, vibration and radiation and to assess each in terms of requirements for injury prevention. It includes a description of how to prepare an action plan in your workplace to identify, assess and control these physical hazards.

 

-          Slips, Trips and Falls Hazards: This module describes slips, trips and falls as hazards that can cause injury and deaths and how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess and control such hazards. Relevant legislation and identification of potential hazards will be explained.

 

-          Working Alone Hazards: This module describes how the hazards of working alone can cause injuries, illnesses and deaths and how potential exposures can be identified. Relevant legislation and how to prepare an action plan in the workplace will also be discussed.

 

-          Working at Heights Hazards: This module explains how the hazards of working at heights can cause injury and death. This Hazards Training module describes how to prepare an action plan in the workplace to identify, assess and control work related to heights. Relevant legislation, standards and guidelines will also be covered.

 

         Workplace Violence Hazards: This module explains how workplace violence can cause injury and death  and describes how to identify potential violence exposures by preparing an action plan in the workplace. Relevant legislation will also be covered.

 

        Occupational Hazards: This module deals with the subjects of working alone, stress in the workplace and health and hygiene. Relevant legislation, standards and guidelines will also be covered.
