A proactive response by your association to improve new employee orientation!

This USB card is an overview of Occupational Health and Safety for new employees, volunteers and students to assist them in understanding their basic rights and responsibilities and the duties of their employer.

It will serve as a foundation for continuing training. The goal of the orientation card is to highlight the more important features in a health and safety program, capture interest and reinforce key concepts.

Voiceover narration highlights key information throughout the USB card and the interactive visual components and imbedded links ensure that the content is accurate, relevant, interesting and easy to understand.

Rather than using valuable human resources to familiarize your staff with basic health and safety training, allow the new employees time to absorb this aspect of employee orientation at their own desks, at their own rate.

After navigating through the three modules the employee should:

• Gain a basic understanding of OH&S  legislation and the rights, responsibilities and duties of the workplace parties.
• Gain the ability to identify where written procedures or rules should apply to the job and feel comfortable asking a supervisor for this information.
• Understand the function and structure of a Joint Health and Safety Committee.
• Gain an introduction to the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and other potential hazards in the workplace.
• Gain an understanding of the importance of accident and hazard reporting and what to do when an injury occurs.

Self-assessment tools are included in this card and a final quiz prints out, providing the employer and employee with a certificate of completion for their records. Click here for system requirements
